British writer, director, and producer Vicky Jewson has quickly gained recognition as a multihyphenate creative captivating audiences with compelling female narratives told through a modern and commercial lens.
Most recently, Jewson directed and executive produced PRETTY LETHAL, a female-driven action film starring Uma Thurman, Lana Condor, Maddie Ziegler, Avantika, Iris Apatow and Millicent Simmonds.
The film had its world premiere at the 2026 SXSW Film Festival, and released worldwide on Prime Video in March 2026.
Jewson previously co-wrote, directed, and produced the Netflix feature film CLOSE starring Noomi Rapace and Sophie Nelisse.
CLOSE was made through Vicky’s production entity, Jewson Film, which she runs alongside her longtime producing and writing partner Rupert Whitaker.
Jewson Film creates female-driven action narratives that are character-specific, emotionally grounded, and driven by complex protagonists, where every moment of action earns its place and carries real stakes and consequences.
Prior to CLOSE Jewson Film produced the action-thriller BORN OF WAR, written and directed by Jewson and Whitaker and distributed by Lionsgate Films.
In television, Jewson directed the pilot and additional episodes of THE WITCHER: BLOOD ORIGIN, a prequel to the smash hit series THE WITCHER, which debuted on Netflix in 2022.
Jewson began her career at age 14 directing several short films. Vicky’s directorial debut LADY GODIVA, was released by E1 in 2006, the same year in which Jewson was awarded the Women Of The Future Award for Arts, Media and Culture.
